I hope that your New Year is off to a great start! I enjoyed the Holidays so much this year. I can't believe 2012 is over!

I am looking forward to the coming year! It is full of possibilities ~ what are your plans, expectations?

I am starting with the traditional black eyed peas and cabbage - accompanied with some celebratory Champagne! Then, I think I will entertain a nap! Oh, I am going to love this year!

I will be back at work tomorrow with new projects posted for you on January 7th! Check in for more details, later.

We Give Thanks

What are you thankful for? What are your holiday traditions? This is the time of the year that we think about slowing down to look back over the previous year to reflect on the blessings that we have received...I think I will take time over a cup of coffee and a yummy Crème Brûlée.

Happy May Day
This picture shows the Duke of Wellington offering a gift to Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Prince Arthur, in a scene resembling the Adoration of the Magi. The painting was commissioned by Queen Victoria to commemorate the 1st of May 1851, which held a threefold significance: it was the first birthday of Prince Arthur, the eighty-second birthday of prince's godfather the Duke of Wellington, and the opening day of the Great Exhibition. Prince Arthur holds Lily-of-the-valley, a traditional 1st of May gift said to bring good luck. The Crystal Palace can be seen in the background.

I hope that all is well with you. It's too hot to play outside. Hard to believe that we haven't even made it to the first day of summer yet! We have already hit the 100 degree mark. Butterflies in the garden - they love it!

Vintage Vanity Savoir Faire

I like bath products that are relaxing and smell good .......

but I love bath products that are pretty too!

I was cleaning under the vanity cabinet and found a couple things that gave me an idea....I decided to mix my own stuff. It smells good and it's soothes tired muscles too! I just poured some of both in a bowl and mixed them together.

Then, I used a funnel and poured my bath soaking solution into a bottle.

This one has a shaker lid. But, I prefer the cup with the sugar spoon. You can put it in any dispenser you choose. A vintage salt or pepper shaker, a pretty tea cup or you could use an apothocary jar.

This is a great gift idea; you can make extra to share with girlfriends too. Have fun!
